no•comply
Wonky, wubby bass music with a sprinkling of trap and dubstep.
- What does your DJ name mean?
- A “no comply” is a skate trick. Ever since COVID I picked up skateboarding again after not skating since middle school. I love it! Super fun, rewarding, and good exercise. I also like the double meaning of not complying with all the bullshit in the world.
- What was your relationship to electronic music in the past?
- I always liked it even as a little kid. Roni Size - New Forms was one of the first CDs I ever bought. Daft Punk was in constant rotation in high school with my friends. Back in the blog house days I listened to a shit ton of Justice, Crookers, Digitalism and other electro DJ’s. First Coachella I went to was 2012 where I saw Feed Me on day 1 and was blown away. Went to a bunch of shows ever since that.
- Why and how did you pick up DJ’ing?
- Honestly peer pressure haha. I literally picked it up last month since I have a bunch of friends that DJ and encouraged me to do it. Shoutout to Jun for encouraging me to do a set and challenge myself.
- What is the best set you’ve ever seen?
- Tie between Skrillex at Lightning in a Bottle in 2024 or the insane Skrillex/ISOxo B2B at Nitehearts in 2025. Still have a soft spot for that Feed Me set at Coachella in 2012 too.
- What is an underrated genre in the current electronic music landscape?
- No one plays it anymore but I used to love the shit out of Moombahton haha. Old school jungle is rad too but not super popular in the US.
- What are you planning to play for us at Twenty:Four?
- Wonky wubby bass music with a sprinkling of trap and dubstep.
